…ode execute
dynamic_tool items named execute now resolve an embedded htmlRender
reference, and result envelopes shaped like {content: {text}} parse.

Note Written by Hi! We are cleaning up open PRs, and this one does not say which model or harness was used to create it. If this change is really important, we recommend rebuilding the PR with a newer model and noting the model and harness in the PR description. |

…lopes Covers the CodeBuddy bare text block, Grok OkayOutput envelope and annotated titles, and Devin/CodeBuddy namespaced identity, in addition to the OpenCode execute wrapper and Devin content envelope.
ApprovabilityVerdict: Needs Human Approval Macroscope's review found this PR requires human approval — This cross-cutting fix changes shared tool-output parsing and ACP normalization, then propagates wrapped HTML-render results through web, mobile, guest rendering, and attachment cleanup. It also adds a line-level oxlint suppression for a provider-specific string, which warrants direct review of the exception and its surrounding runtime behavior. You can add or adjust custom eligibility rules. Learn more. |

Source review of Please bind accepted display references to the item's actual source thread, including delegated/merged timeline rows, and add focused foreign-reference coverage for web and mobile. Julius's interim direction in #16745 explicitly called for the ownership check. The documented case where a script publishes a page but never returns its reference also remains outside this reader, so please preserve that outstanding case in #16745 rather than treating this interim subset as complete closure. For verification, the current PR has an after screenshot; exact-base/head before/after client proof and live ACP coverage remain pending. #21680 overlaps the Grok parsing work and is worth coordinating with. |
…e row's thread An execute item's output is whatever the agent's script returned, so a reference read from it could name a page published for another thread. htmlRenderFromToolItem now takes the item's thread and accepts an execute reference only when its attachment id was minted for that thread. Web and mobile pass each row's source thread, so delegated and inherited rows are checked against the thread they came from, and thread-deletion cleanup passes the thread being deleted. The thread-segment helper moves to @t3tools/shared/attachmentIds so the clients can use it; the server re-exports it unchanged. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Note Written by Claude Opus 5.5 (Claude Code in T3 Code) on behalf of @ethanhfreeman. Thanks, the ownership finding was right, and it was the check Julius asked for. Fixed in
Not done yet: exact base/head before-and-after client captures, and live ACP sessions. I'll note #21680 separately. |

Thanks for adding the source-thread check and inherited-row coverage. The ordinary foreign-reference case is corrected in source, and keeping #16745 open accurately preserves the no-return case. One remaining source-level collision: Concrete pair: This is source inspection and a string-normalization calculation, not an executed client reproduction. Exact-base/head client captures and live ACP validation remain pending. |

…nline OpenCode Code Mode runs html_render inside `execute`, so the page reference came back as the script's result (wrapped or bare) and never rendered. `execute` rows now yield a page only when its attachment id was minted for the row's own thread (sourceThreadId, so inherited and delegated rows check their origin), and thread deletion cleans those pages up too. ACP envelopes now normalize: Devin content arrays, CodeBuddy bare text blocks and qualified rawInput.toolName, Devin's namespaced inference tool name, and Grok's OkayOutput result plus snake_case and annotated names. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Problem
T3's inline-page lookup only recognized tool items named
html_render, so a page published through a wrapping tool never rendered and was orphaned on thread delete. The model is still told "Shown to the reader above your reply".executecall, so the item is namedexecuteeven when its output is exactlyhtml_render's result.OkayOutputenvelope with annotated titles.Change
Shared reader (
packages/shared/src/toolOutput.ts,t3McpToolPresentation.ts):htmlRenderFromToolItemalso accepts a completedexecuteitem whose script returnedhtml_render's result, either whole or as the bare reference (return out.htmlRender). A bare reference only counts when its id has the-htmlsuffix thathtml_rendergives every page.block.contentas well asblock.text, which is Devin's ACP shape.{type:'text',text}block, which is CodeBuddy's shape.ACP adapter boundary (
packages/provider-acp):acpMcpToolCallOutputunwraps Grok's{output:{OkayOutput}}, including on the default path when identity recovery fails.Thread ownership. An
executeitem's output is whatever the agent's script returned, so a reference read from it is only shown when its attachment id was minted for the row's own thread (attachmentIdBelongsToThread, new in@t3tools/shared/attachmentIds). Web and mobile pass each row'ssourceThreadId, so delegated and inherited rows are checked against the thread they came from. Thread-deletion cleanup checks the same thread, as before. The segment helper moved from the server tosharedso the clients can use it; the server re-exports it unchanged. Not covered: an OpenCode Code Mode script that never returns the
html_renderresult (for example, it returns thehtml_previewresult instead) still shows no page. OpenCode reports nested calls as{ tool, status, input }with no result, so nothing in the item names the page. That needs a server-side record of published pages and is a separate change.Scope and approval
Part of https://git.cafe/pingdotgg/t3code/issues/16745; it doesn't close it, because the case above remains open there. A maintainer confirmed the root cause against
mainin the issue. Every change here serves one problem: a page that a wrapping tool's output carries must be found. The ownership check follows Julius's interim direction in the issue, which asked for it explicitly. This PR was narrowed after coordinating with @Abdullah1738 on https://git.cafe/pingdotgg/t3code/pulls/19029, and an earlier OpenCode adapter change was reverted out of it (ae99a51).Verification

Takeover
Round 2 retains @ehfreema’s commits and rebuilds the final tree from the round-1 takeover plus main at
977a188. This section supersedes the earlier verification counts above.Qualified ACP tool names prevent ToolSearch arguments from being mistaken for
html_render; native child MCP output now receives the same Grok envelope normalization as parent output. Both regressions failed before their respective fixes and passed afterward.Julius decided wrapped
executeoutput is fully trusted; the existing source-thread ownership check remains. Part of #16745, without closing it.The final diff has 10 added tests across 6 existing files (original submission: 13 across 7), plus the nested-output assertion in the existing child adapter replay.
Evidence
Fixture matrix · Complete capture manifest · Proof audit: INSUFFICIENT.
Real OpenCode Code Mode calls published identical HTML before and after. After reload the page renders inline; the before revision retains only the execute row. Live insertion without reload was not independently established. These are whole-viewport settled captures.
Before interaction recording · After interaction recording, captured with ffmpeg x11grab. The auditor sampled recordings; complete recording acceptance remains unproven.
Verification log
Round-2 source reviewed: 34fcb08, based on main 977a188. Publication preserves the contributor history through merges; the final tree is checked against the reviewed tree.
Both concrete regressions failed before their implementation fixes and passed afterward: before/after transcript.
Fresh full-diff reviews: Codex gpt-6.1-sol report A, 169 focused tests; Claude Opus 5.5 report B, 233 focused tests. Both returned
MERGE, with live-provider and visual verification left to the evidence pass.vp run check:changed, capped at 20 minutes, finished in under five minutes: format, lint, GraphQL generation, both knip stages, unused patches and all 34 affected-package typechecks passed. Tests: 313 passed, one existing 16-MiB ACP terminal-output test timed out under the concurrent run. That same unchanged test passed alone. No timeout/retry configuration was changed. Full check log, isolated test log.Surface scope: web and desktop share the timeline consumer; mobile has separate threadActivity coverage; guest rendering and deletion consume the same shared page reader. No new controls, commands, wire contracts or entry points. Real ACP variants not emitted by the capture provider remain mock-replay coverage. Native desktop shell, relay/tunnel and live nested Grok-child behavior are not established by web-parent proof.
Infrastructure: the first implementation delegate completed its edits/tests but its completion notification was delayed; its background broad check was killed without a usable log. The assigned worktree and server later disappeared before capture; the reviewed commit survived and the worktree was recreated. One ghdrop transport failure succeeded on retry. No live T3 userdata was read, copied or written.
Final published head: cc71861; its tree exactly matches reviewed
34fcb08. Original contributor head, main and reviewed takeover are ancestors. Julius is assigned. GitCafe observed this final head with five successful checks, four pending and zero failing; the new-head conflict check was pending at handback. No merge or watch was requested.Capture-focused tests: before 223 passed; after 192 plus mobile 41 plus server 78 passed. Proof audit is INSUFFICIENT for the explicit missing rows above; no code bug was established by that audit.
Models/harnesses: gpt-6.1-sol through Codex (lead, review A, proof audit and capture); Claude Opus 5.5 through Claude Agent (round-2 implementation and review B), coordinated in T3 Code. Original contribution credited to @ehfreema.
