Change

Existing-case filers can review and correct an early AI filing-type proposal without treating it as a permitted court code. After case confirmation, the proposal is resolved against that case's actual subsequent filing types. Unavailable or ambiguous proposals explain the mismatch and leave the finder and dropdown available; saved user selections take precedence. Corrections and cleared proposals persist, while document replacement invalidates the old proposal. The ordinary non-AI path remains available.

Part 7 of the core stack for #300 and #302. Depends on #309; base: ux/06-filing-type-finder.

Validation

  • Full local suite: 1,788 Python tests passed (three opt-in browser suites skipped), and all 90 JavaScript tests passed.
  • All three opt-in browser suites passed separately with PostgreSQL and Gotenberg: PDF/DOCX preparation and replacement, payment/review detours, and the existing-case UX matrix.
  • The matrix covers Massachusetts modern/legacy numbers, Vermont manual court selection, provisional mismatch/correction, keyboard selection, mobile layout, Axe checks, and draft resume without repeated extraction acknowledgement or duplicate additional parties. Court responses use synthetic fixtures.
  • Browser screenshots and validation notes.

The People/contact follow-on remains separate, as planned.

The matrix chose an existing case's court on Confirm information, which
now leaves court details to Lookup, and only knew Illinois. It now takes
FILING_MATRIX_JURISDICTION, signs in with that state's test account, and
has a new-case scenario for Massachusetts and Vermont.
