I trained Mask R-CNN (ResNet-50) on COCO-2017 subset (600 imgs, 4 classes: cake/car/dog/person) for instance masks. EDA showed 'person' dominance (~50%); avg IoU=0.70 (person 0.75, cake 0.60 due to imbalance). 5 epochs, lr=0.001, batch=16 in Colab.
