Summary

Expand MCP template tools to let AI assistants browse, search, and create projects from Taskade's library of 700+ templates spanning project management, engineering, marketing, HR, education, and more.

• templateSearch — Search templates by category, keyword, or use case
• templatePreview — Preview template structure before creating
• templateCategoriesGet — List available template categories

Use Cases

• "Show me all sprint planning templates"
• "Create a new marketing campaign project from the best-rated template"

Context

Taskade offers 700+ curated templates at https://www.taskade.com/templates. Currently the MCP server supports creating projects from custom templates. This expands to the full public template library.

Partial status (verified 2026-07-28): two of the requested capabilities already ship among the 62 tools today:

• folderProjectTemplatesGet — list project templates in a folder
• projectFromTemplate — create a project from a template (tpl_* id)

What remains blocked: the 700+ public gallery (templateSearch / templatePreview / templateCategoriesGet). There is no public API endpoint for the gallery — the v2 /listTemplates is also folder-scoped (requires folderId). Labeling blocked-upstream for the gallery half; the folder-scoped workflow works now.
