Spec

Microbit as controller for smart gateway

Relay to turn on/off load

Use led to test load

I used a breakout board from Key-e-Studio to be able to do it with relay attached to microbit and load and used power line to go through relay on microbit breakout board to simulate a real relay but at 5V

About

This project demonstrates how a micro:bit can safely control lower or higher‑power devices using a relay module. Since the micro:bit’s GPIO pins can’t directly drive speakers or other loads, the relay acts as an electrically isolated switch — letting the micro:bit toggle your circuit without exposing it to high current for one load.
