Ships alongside scrape-badger/scrapebadger#1956, already deployed to production.

The image-search page told readers no similarity or confidence score is returned. Vinted does return one per item, and the API now surfaces it as similarity_score.

Verified in production on 2026-09-18: 1.0000 at rank 1 (the query image's own listing) down to 0.6154 at rank 20, monotonic.

Two things the page now says explicitly, because the obvious reading of each is wrong:

  • A null is not a weak match. Vinted supplies the ranking on only some calls (2 of 14 in the prod check); on the rest every item comes back null. The result set is identical either way, so a missing score is a missing payload, not a worse match.
  • The source listing matches itself at 1.0 and will bias a median unless dropped by id.

returned. Vinted does return one per item and the API now surfaces it.

Says plainly what a null means, because the obvious reading is wrong: Vinted
supplies the ranking on only some calls, and on the rest every item comes
back null. The result set is identical either way, so a missing score is not
a weak match — it is a missing payload.

Also documents the self-match: searching with a listing's own photo returns
that listing first at 1.0, which will bias a median unless it is dropped by id.
