Summary

  • deploy/README.md cut-over checklist:
    • item 9 (new): the five website chain pins to move at every cut, and redeploy each site;
    • item 7 (corrected): since randscan 1363c68 the explorer stops writing on an unpinned genesis instead of re-indexing. Set RANDSCAN_EXPECTED_CHAIN_ID / RANDSCAN_EXPECTED_GENESIS in /etc/randscan/api.secrets.env and restart.
  • deploy/cut-record.template: the clients: checklist names the pins.

Docs only; cut-policy.sh's required fields are unchanged.

… writing until its pin moves

Since 2026-10-27 randscan (1363c68), randbridge.org, randprotocol.org and zusd.money each pin
the chain id and genesis hash they expect and show a "wrong chain" banner otherwise, and the
monorepo's site-sync workflow fails while a deployed pin differs from the live genesis.
deploy/README.md's cut-over checklist names the five pin files (item 9). Item 7 is corrected:
the explorer no longer re-indexes on a chain change by itself; it stops writing until
RANDSCAN_EXPECTED_CHAIN_ID / _GENESIS (in /etc/randscan/api.secrets.env, which survives
vps-setup.sh) name the new chain. The cut record's clients checklist names the pins too.
