loadkeys mod-dh-ansi-us
I am going to use XBOOTLDR, EFI and systemd-boot for laying out my partitioning scheme.
The subvolumes I am going to be using are the defaults that the archinstall script uses.
| subvol | mountpoint |
|---|---|
@ | / |
@home | /home |
@log | /var/log |
@pkg | /var/cache/pacman/pkg |
@.snapshots | /.snapshots |
Installing the paru AUR helper.
#!/usr/bin/env bash

git clone https://aur.archlinux.org/paru.git /tmp/paru
cd /tmp/paru || exit
makepkg -si
The firefox dir contains a few files that can come into use when placed in the correct places.
Setting the keymap is essential, coz if I can’t get to colemak-dh, my speed is cut down a lot. Use localectl to set X11 keymaps as well the vconsole’s keymap.
Set the /etc/vconsole.conf to
KEYMAP=mod-dh-ansi-us
This command can also be used to set the keymap.
Remember to pass the
--no-convertflag so that the file is not overwritten in any ways.
#!/usr/bin/env bash
sudo localectl set-keymap --no-convert mod-dh-ansi-us
Run these commands to set the X11 keymaps.
sudo localectl set-x11-keymap --no-convert us "" colemak_dh "ctrl:swapcaps"
Run these commands to set GTK theme. The GTK theme is mostly managed by Noctalia itself.
#!/usr/bin/env bash
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface gtk-theme 'adw-gtk3'
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface color-scheme 'prefer-dark'
# Set Emacs bindings for GTK
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface gtk-key-theme "Emacs"
# Filechooser: start in cwd
gsettings set org.gtk.Settings.FileChooser startup-mode cwd
To use some aliases and shortcuts in Qutebrowser, use it’s userscripts. The userscripts are typically stored in /usr/share/qutebrowser/userscripts. Soft symlinking those scripts to $XDG_CONFIG_HOME/qutebrowser/userscripts directory will make them available. From there they can be called using a key binding or any alias. I use the view_in_mpv userscript to start any video from sites like youtube.
