# AGENTS.md

Instructions for any AI coding agent working in this repository (Codex, Claude, Cursor, Gemini, and others). Project-specific truth lives here so a fresh agent is never guessing.

## What this is

A written specification — no software — describing the fields used to describe a golf course (name, coordinates, holes, par, phone, scorecard) so that other people's databases and apps can exchange golf course data in one agreed format. It is the public "here's what the columns mean" document for the free OpenGolfAPI dataset; the actual data lives in `opengolfapi/data` and the actual API lives in the private monorepo.

- Always open a pull request; never push straight to the default branch. Other people and agents work in these repos.
