I work with ServiceNow as a developer and follow the community closely. Areas I work in:
- Scripting: Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Script Includes, GlideRecord / GlideAjax patterns
- Automation: Flow Designer, Workflow, Scheduled Jobs, Notifications
- Integrations: REST/SOAP APIs, integration with external tools and pipelines
- Modern development: the ServiceNow SDK (TypeScript) for building and deploying apps as code
- Learning in public: I keep a fork of the community code-snippets repo and study patterns from it
I like bringing DevOps practices (version control, pipelines, automated testing and deployment) to ServiceNow development.
Jenkins CI/CD with Docker: tests, SonarQube quality gate, Trivy image scan, registry push, staging deploy with smoke test and automatic rollback, and a manual approval before production. Jenkins itself is configured as code.
End-to-end DevOps platform: a Flask API with a multi-stage Docker build, GitHub Actions CI/CD (test, validate, build, scan, deploy), Kubernetes manifests, Terraform for AWS and Prometheus/Grafana monitoring with alert rules.
ServiceNow incident auto-triage (Script Include, Business Rule, scheduled escalation) plus a pipeline integration that opens and closes change requests from GitHub Actions. Unit tested with mocked platform APIs.
ServiceNow order, procurement and returns automation built from my internship project: payment, stock check, pick and pack, delivery, automatic restocking, two approval gates for procurement and refunds. ES5 Script Includes with 58 tests against a mocked platform.
