Superseded: NetworkMap-first optimization ported into #292 (servers + switches via TryCast, FindObjects fallback). Note: nm.switches values are INetworkEndpoint and need the cast — the original patch as written does not compile against current types. |
Good catch! I've updated the patch to use |
💡 What: Replacing
FindObjectsOfType<T>withNetworkMap.instancedict iteration for Server, NetworkSwitch, and PatchPanel inEnsureAllRackPositionUIDs.🎯 Why:
FindObjectsOfTypeis O(N) over all objects and blocks the main thread, wasting immense CPU cycles before the condition is ever met. Using game-managed O(1) dictionaries reduces GC pressure and CPU overhead in large Data Centers.📊 Impact: Substantially faster WorldSync for saves with hundreds of devices.
🔬 Measurement: Observe lower execution time/GC allocations in
EnsureAllRackPositionUIDsduring synchronization frames.PR created automatically by Jules for task 11443369995706449354 started by @mleem97
