Hello

I'm a research software engineer at the UK's National Oceanography Centre (NOC: https://www.noc.ac.uk).

Before I joined NOC, I did a PhD in the Institute for Climate and Atmospheric Science at the University of Leeds. I trained and applied deep learning models to numerical weather prediction model data, to better understand the generation of gravity waves over Britain and Ireland.

Most of my work work (as opposed to fun work) can be found on the relevant GitHub organisation rather than here. Try NOC Ocean Informatics or NOC AI Research.

Here are some useful(?) links and information about me:

  • NOC profile page
  • Research output can be found on Google Scholar and ResearchGate.
  • I am no longer using the platform formerly known as Twitter.
  • My favourite service station is Forton.
  • My favourite biscuits are Hobnobs, closely followed by dark chocolate digestives.
  • My preferred beverage is tea (Yorkshire).
