Kitty: the module installed whatever apt offered (0.32.2 on Noble, sixteen minor releases behind upstream 0.48.2) and skipped the package entirely once command -v kitty succeeded, so it never upgraded.

  • Linux now uses the official installer from sw.kovidgoyal.net into ~/.local/kitty.app, symlinks kitty/kitten into ~/.local/bin, installs both .desktop entries with absolute Exec/Icon paths, and sets xdg-terminals.list
  • The installed version is compared against current-version.txt, so the download is skipped when already current and re-running is the upgrade path
  • MacOS runs brew upgrade --cask kitty when the cask is already present
  • A leftover apt-managed kitty is reported with its removal command
  • kitty/test.sh and tmp-verify-install.sh check the upstream location and warn when the install is behind the latest release

claude-code: new module installing Anthropic's agentic coding CLI with the official installer (curl -fsSL https://claude.ai/install.sh | bash).

  • Same installer on Ubuntu and MacOS, so the Brewfile needs no entry
  • Added to the --all order of install_ubuntu.sh (16.) and install_macos.sh, plus test-macos.sh, the CI syntax check and tmp-verify-install.sh
  • Re-running updates to the latest release and reports the version change
  • Refuses to run under sudo, which would install into root's home not $HOME
  • No configuration is stowed: Claude Code state stays in unmanaged ~/.claude

Also corrects the README Ubuntu module list, which was missing infra-tools-kit (15.).
