Hi, could you give more information about what you're trying to build, the steps you followed and your build environment?
What branch (or commit) are you on? What toolchain are you using?

So it was the binutils that failed to build from the master branch for ./miosix/_tools/compiler/gcc-9.2.0-mp3.2 following the directions outlined on the page on OSX - (Which I assume perhaps incorrectly would be deemed sufficiently close enough to Linux to build given there’s a package for OSX pre-built)

is it related to the other issue #10 ?

As far as I know from speaking with Daniele which is my colleague with experience with OS X, there's an incompatibility between the latest clang shipped with OS X and the source code of GCC 9.2.0. I think he succeeded in compiling by installing a second, earlier version of clang but I don't know the details.

Anyway, we're currently suggesting users to rely on the precompiled builds that are available for Mac, both with Intel and ARM CPUs (https://miosix.org/wiki/index.php?title=Miosix_Toolchain) that were built before OS X updated clang, but this is only a temporary solution waiting for the next Miosix release, 3.0 which is currently being developed in the unstable branch. This release will be based at least on GCC 14.2 which should compile cleanly on OS X too.
