Summary

Add missing alt text to the images rendered by ArticleCard, ArticleProfile, and FeedCard in the demo app.

Motivation

These three components render images through LazyLoadImage from react-lazy-load-image-component without passing an alt prop

<LazyLoadImage
  src={imageUrl}
  effect="opacity"
  width="100%"
  height="100%"
/>

LazyLoadImageProps extends ImgHTMLAttributes<HTMLImageElement> and fully supports alt, but it was never provided, so the resulting <img> has no accessible description for screen reader users.
This slipped past Biome's a11y.useAltText lint rule because that rule only inspects literal img JSX elements, not wrapper components like LazyLoadImage.

What I have done

  • ArticleCard.tsx: pass alt={title} to the article thumbnail.
  • FeedCard.tsx: pass alt={title} to the feed thumbnail.
  • ArticleProfile.tsx: pass a static alt="Emilia's profile" to the avatar image (the component has no dynamic name prop to use).

Test Plans

  • Reviewed all LazyLoadImage usages under demo/src/components to confirm these were the only occurrences missing alt.
  • Ran Biome on the three changed files.

Test Results

Test Results

  • biome check demo/src/components/ArticleCard.tsx demo/src/components/ArticleProfile.tsx demo/src/components/FeedCard.tsx
    → Checked 3 files in 44ms. No fixes applied.
  • yarn build success ✨ Done in 131.508s

ArticleCard, ArticleProfile, and FeedCard render images via
LazyLoadImage without an alt attribute, so the resulting <img>
has no accessible description. Pass the article title (or a
static description for the profile photo) as alt text.

Change: Bug fix

Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to a8de9

Screen-reader users hear repeated titles when navigating article links and feed buttons. The impact is limited to these demo cards, so merge risk is low; consider correcting or tracking the redundant alternatives.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Avoid repeating the title in the link name.

The image and visible title are both inside the Link. alt={title} repeats the title in the link's accessible name. Use alt="" if the thumbnail is redundant, or provide a distinct description if the image conveys information.
