SOCE produces a structural signature Φ = ⟨σ, V, E⟩ read from documented inscriptions: node intensities as ordinal states, the three Todorov axes, and the states of the inter-node links.
Two-tier use rule.
- Exploratory use is open to all. Load the codebook, read a case, produce a provisional reading. Any analyst — human or machine — may do this.
- Canonical diagnosis requires two trained coders under the delta-protocol. A signature produced without that validation is not a canonical SOCE signature and must not be presented as one.
This is not gatekeeping for its own sake. Reproducibility here is defined as two independent analysts producing the same signature — not as a statistical coefficient. A single unvalidated reading, however fluent, does not meet the definition.
The canon is qualitative-ordinal. Ordinal states are never averaged, summed or weighted, and no continuous quantification enters the notation. These are not stylistic preferences: averaging ordinal states across autonomous analytical frameworks would treat them as components of a single measurement instrument, which they are not.

Version 0.1.0 — first frozen release of the measurement canon. Changes to the notation are versioned; a release is the frozen state against which any preregistered analysis is run.
