PilotCalc

PilotCalc is a local-first aviation study and preflight planning application. It includes educational calculators, aircraft-specific POH/AFM workflows, flight planning, and an ISA reference.

Local development

PilotCalc requires Node.js 20.19 or newer and uses pnpm.

corepack enable
pnpm install --frozen-lockfile
pnpm dev

Run the complete verification suite with:

pnpm verify

Deploy to Netlify

The repository includes a netlify.toml configuration for a Git-based Netlify deployment:

1. In Netlify, add a new site and import this repository from the Git provider.
2. Keep the build settings from netlify.toml.
3. Deploy the site.

Netlify builds the app with pnpm build, publishes dist, and rewrites browser requests to index.html so direct links such as /calculators and /flight-plans/:planId work correctly.

For a manual deployment, run pnpm build and deploy the generated dist directory.

PilotCalc stores aircraft profiles, performance data, and flight plans in the browser using IndexedDB. A Netlify deployment remains local-first: data is not synchronized between browsers or devices.
