Release 0.5.0 of the AgentMail plugin for Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor: the provider → app rename (merged in #16) plus the release bookkeeping AGENTS.md asks for.

• CHANGELOG.md: 0.5.0 - Unreleased → 0.5.0 - 2026-10-02, with two added lines (the metrics fix and the version tracking below).

• compatibility.json: was last verified 2026-07-21 and drifted on four packages. Now tracks the current registry releases, and check_compatibility.py reports a match:

How the versions were verified (not only bumped)

• SDK calls: constructed a client from published agentmail 0.5.35 (TypeScript) and 2.0.8 (Python), then resolved every client.* call the skills use. All 37 exist in each, except metrics.query, which is fixed here.
• CLI commands: ran --help for every agentmail <command> the skills use against agentmail-cli 1.8.0; all exist.
• MCP tools: the hosted MCP server (.mcp.json → https://mcp.agentmail.to/mcp) serves list_apps / search_apps / get_app / connect_app, with no *_provider tools. Verified with a live tools/list.

Why compatibility failed: the job installs Svix unpinned, and Svix 2.6.1 (released 2026-09-30) changed Webhook.verify to return nothing (None in Python, undefined in JS) instead of the parsed payload. test_valid_signature_verifies did event = verify(...) then event["event_type"], which crashed on None. It ran on this PR only because compatibility.json changed (path filter); main would fail the same way on its next run. Unrelated to the rename or the SDK bump.

The same change broke the skill's webhook examples, which handed agents verify()'s return value as the event. While re-running the job I also found the next step would fail: CLI 1.x rejects the colon form inboxes:messages, which both the workflow and the agentmail-cli skill (16 commands) used.

Fixed in 8ec96de:

• Webhook fixtures (tests/test_webhook_verification.py, tests/webhook_verification.ts, tests/webhook_typescript.ts): verify, then parse the raw body. Works on Svix 1.x and 2.x.
• Workflow: inboxes messages --help.
• Skills re-exported from agentmail-skills Release 0.6.0: app slugs and categories in the AgentID skill #21: webhook examples, and the CLI skill on nested subcommands. All 28 CLI commands, as written, resolve with every flag on CLI 1.8.0.

Every step of the compatibility job, run locally against the pinned versions, passes:

• Python: SDK signatures (agentmail 2.0.8), and the webhook fixtures on Svix 2.6.1.
• TypeScript: tsc --strict and tsx webhook_verification.ts (SDK 0.5.35, toolkit 0.10.0, Svix 2.6.1).
• CLI 1.8.0: command-name checks.
