Antonio Emanuel Damasceno Cisco CCIE Collaboration #40965 · Linux & AI Infrastructure Engineer · Law Enforcement Professional

I build practical, privacy-conscious technology at the intersection of open-source software, enterprise infrastructure, and public safety.

My work includes Linux-native software development, enterprise voice and networking, self-hosted AI systems, and local language model experimentation. I am particularly interested in making useful AI tools accessible to organizations that cannot afford expensive proprietary platforms. Current initiative: Project AEGIS Project AEGIS is a proposed free and open-source initiative exploring privacy-first AI assistance for law enforcement and public safety.

Planned areas of research and development:

  • Incident documentation: Assist with organizing officer-provided facts into clear narratives, without generating or inventing evidence.
  • Reference retrieval: Support citation-grounded searches of authorized laws, policies, and procedures, with human verification.
  • Training: Provide scenario-based practice for communication, de-escalation, and crisis response.
  • Local AI deployment: Evaluate offline and on-premises inference to reduce reliance on external services.
  • Accessible hardware: Benchmark higher-end development systems and adapt working solutions for smaller agency budgets. Status: Early planning and prototyping. No operational deployment or agency endorsement is claimed. Project principles
  • Free and open source, with published setup instructions and reproducible evaluations.
  • Privacy and security by design, using synthetic or appropriately authorized data for development.
  • Human oversight for all real-world decisions; never autonomous arrest, detention, use-of-force, identification, or threat-scoring decisions.
  • Transparent reporting of model limitations, hallucination risks, and evaluation results. Technical focus
  • AI: Local LLMs, AI agents, inference benchmarking, retrieval-augmented generation
  • Infrastructure: Linux, containers, networking, storage, observability, self-hosting
  • Networking & collaboration: Cisco Collaboration, SIP, voice infrastructure, enterprise network design
  • Open source: Linux-native applications and documentation-driven, reproducible deployments Collaboration I welcome collaboration on practical open-source tools, especially projects involving privacy-preserving AI, public safety training, Linux, and accessible local inference.
  • GitHub: @aedamasceno Project AEGIS is an independent proposed initiative. It does not represent an official law enforcement agency or an NVIDIA-sponsored project.
