CMS137 has two rates, and case work follows only one of them. Found in a live walk-through of the Maui sandbox as a case manager, 2026-09-23.
What is on screen
- The CMS137 card, its status chips, the "Open cases" link and the work list all follow Engagement: 64 of 490, 13.1%.
- Initiation, 181 of 490 (36.9%), appears exactly once: in the "CMS Measure Rate" box on
/programs/cms137. There is no chip, list or case for it.
Why it matters
A patient who has not initiated treatment is a gap under Initiation. Case management cannot see that gap. The practice can read the Initiation rate but cannot work it.
Decision needed
- Add an Initiation chip and list beside Engagement, so both rates are workable.
- Show both rates on the card, and keep the case work on Engagement only.
- Say plainly on the card and the measure page that case work follows Engagement.
The first is the most useful and the most work. The third costs almost nothing, and at least stops the screen implying the measure has a single rate.
