Inspection record from before the dialog was implemented. The backup decision and the shared dialog are on PR #4 (cursor/m4c-dialog-slice-3529). This branch's history was not rewritten.

What this changes

Adds handoff.md from an inspection of main, m4b-folder-layout, and m4c-no-diagonals. No source change, no merge, no dialog implementation.

The note records:

  • Default branch is main (there is no master).
  • M4d is in 0.2.1. M4a (one dialog) was unbuilt on every branch at the time of that note.
  • The two feature branches had no pull request. m4c-no-diagonals contains m4b-folder-layout.
  • Sketch.md's old Clean-by-moving-files text and the implemented zip save points were different designs.

Why

The note was the record of what was merged and what was only on a remote branch, before implementation started.

How it was tested

On main at 49b8bc8, Python 3.12.3, before that commit (the commit adds only handoff.md):

  • ruff check . passes
  • ruff format --check . passes
  • pytest -q passes (349 passed, 6 skipped in 957.45s)
  • Checked against a real KiCad 10 board or kicad-cli — not run here

Checklist

  • CHANGELOG.md updated under Unreleased — omitted; that commit did not change behaviour
  • Docs — findings were in handoff.md only
  • No third-party code

Inspection of main, m4b-folder-layout, and m4c-no-diagonals: what is
already released, what is unmerged, and the backup-design choice that
blocks a merge. The first dialog slice is a sixth button that runs
Analyze, with the five existing buttons left in place.

PR #3 stays the inspection note. This branch is the implementation.
