Summary

CI smoke now covers 36 of the workspace's 79 scripts, up from 6. Every area is included: overview/ (the Colab front door), dataset_1d/ (simulate, model, results, database, correction, extract, temporal), imaging_ci/ (simulate, model, data preparation, correction, extract, chaining) and plot/ (plotters, a CCD chain, diagnostics).

Scripts run in file order, so the list is grouped and ordered by dependency: a simulator comes before the scripts that load its data, and a fit before the database and plot scripts that read its results.

Closes #43 (cti-upkeep phase 3a).

How the list was chosen: a triage of all 79 scripts under profile_smoke.

  • 74 pass once ordered.
  • 5 are genuinely broken. They are tracked as their own bug and will be promoted once fixed.
  • One simulator (non_uniform_cosmic_rays, which overview_4 calls) takes 200–430 s on a fresh clone, so both stay out.

AGENTS.md's smoke section now describes the representative set, what's left out and why, and the timings. The smoke_tests.yml header comment matches.

Tests

From a fresh clone, run one after the other:

  • profile_smoke: 36/36 pass in 213 s.
  • profile_release: 36/36 pass in 317 s. This matters because release.yml runs the same list as a release gate.

Independent review (separate-model agent): CLEAN. It checked every producer → consumer dependency, confirmed all 36 entries exist and none are duplicated or known-broken, and spot-ran the database and plot chains.

Tier: glance — auto-merge on green with the Witness passed (plan approved by the human 2026-11-05).

…i and plot (#43)

smoke_tests.txt grows from 6 to 36 scripts, grouped and in dependency order
(simulator before the scripts that load its data, fit before the database and
plot scripts that read its results). A triage of all 79 scripts on 2026-11-05
found 74 passing once ordered, 5 genuinely broken (tracked separately) and one
simulator too slow for smoke (non_uniform_cosmic_rays, which overview_4 calls).

From a fresh clone, 36/36 pass under profile_smoke (213 s) and
profile_release (317 s; release.yml runs this list as a release gate).

AGENTS.md: the smoke section now describes the representative set, what is
left out and why, and the measured timings. smoke_tests.yml header comment
updated to match.
