feat: use right-aligned dashboard Markdown icons #498

Closed

Description

@Jammy2211

Problem

Dashboard Markdown source links occupy prominent space alongside headings. Replace them with discreet clickable document icons at the right of the corresponding row.

Approved plan

  • Replace Markdown-version text with a document icon; preserve URL, tooltip, accessible name and keyboard focus.
  • Position section source links at the far right after badges, without changing disclosure behavior.
  • Reuse shared Brain presentation and verify Mind plus other affected shared-theme boards at desktop/mobile sizes.

Tier: undeclared — merge mode: human /prm.

Implementation Steps

  1. Extend board/_theme.py shared HTML presentation and CSS to render source links consistently, keeping owner-defined URLs. In section_layout, move heading source links into the summary after badges; leave unrelated links unchanged.
  2. Update docs/board-navigation.md with source-link placement and accessibility behavior. Adjust affected existing renderer assertions as needed.
  3. Run focused shared-theme, intake, board and Cortex checks. Render representative boards and check keyboard/link/disclosure behavior and mobile overflow in a browser.
  4. Regenerate PyAutoMind dashboard artifacts through the owning intake renderer if required; preserve task content.

Affected Repositories

  • PyAutoBrain: shared presentation, owner renderers if needed, documentation and verification.
  • PyAutoMind: generated dashboard artifacts and lifecycle record.

    Implementation is open for review:

Validated 271 focused renderer checks and 40 browser cases across five widths, light/dark modes, link destinations, keyboard activation, focus, disclosure behavior and overflow. Full suites passed 1270 Brain and 695 Mind tests; each remaining environment-sensitive fixture passed after removing worktree environment overrides (4/4 and 7/7 respectively). The generated Mind page passes its freshness check.

The human explicitly acknowledged the unchanged Heart YELLOW reasons on 2026-10-07: “manifest drift: workspace checkouts (manifest ↔ disk) — 3 mismatch(es) vs PyAutoMind/repos.yaml”; “release validation incomplete: no rehearsal for current source”.

No scientific API or workspace-script impact. Other shared-theme boards receive the presentation on regeneration. Awaiting CI and human merge; no timers or follow-up automation armed.

Both PRs are merged: PyAutoBrain#499 (shared accessible right-aligned Markdown icons) and PyAutoMind#490 (generated dashboard).

Brain passed Python 3.12, Python 3.13 and documentation checks. Mind passed freshness and privacy on the final head; its template publication drift job is intentionally excluded on pull requests. Generated-file conflicts were resolved by regeneration against current Mind state after the Brain merge.

Local validation: 271 focused checks and 40 browser cases; full-suite results and environment-isolation reruns are recorded in the PRs. Task archived in complete/2026/10/dashboard-markdown-icons.md; dashboard refreshed and worktree cleanup follows.
