This extension is core in vulkan 1.4 and has over 99% device support on Vulkan 1.3.
It simplifies descriptor handling by a lot, removing the complexity of creating and pooling descriptor sets.
Instead it has a more OpenGL-like interface, where you can easily and conveniently specify the binding points with the command buffer.
