Adds support for the ROCCAT Kone Pro Air, currently the top-voted Driver Needed entry on the openmouse.app supported-devices page (39 votes). No ROCCAT protocol exists in this package yet, so this adds the protocol codec, the WebHID driver and the picker filters as a focused change on top of current main (c3b1bc2).

Devices

Model USB id Connection Status
ROCCAT Kone Pro Air (wireless) 1e7d:2c8e Stellar Wireless dongle, vendor interface 2 (xFF00:0x0001) captured on hardware
ROCCAT Kone Pro Air (wired) 1e7d:2c92 cable, same collection on interface 1 mapped, not exercised on the cable

Firmware: as shipped. ROCCAT Swarm was never installed on the capture host, so no frame in the captures is Swarm traffic.

Transport and protocol

The vendor interface speaks plain unnumbered 64-byte output reports; a full GET (feature report) sweep for ids x00-0xFF on every interface answers nothing, so there is no feature-report path here. The mouse answers on the same interface's interrupt-IN stream, echoing the frame's byte 1 (class byte). WebHID shape: sendReport(0, 64B) out, inputreport events in.

Frame vocabulary (device coordinates):

ext 10 50 14 00 01 <polling> <angle> 00 <stage table 8..17> <lod> 00 80 <ledTimeout> 00 <debounce> settings write 10 50 14 settings query 10 50 18 04 commit tail 10 10 0b 00 09 64 64 64 06 <r g b> <r g b> lighting write (two zones) 90 0a status probe

Polling codes run opposite to ROCCAT's older OEM Burst Core dict (125 Hz = x03, 1000 Hz = x00), per the public SignalRGB plugin for this generation. DPI is stored per-50 in the stage table's five paired byte slots.

The write sequence and the commit tail are byte-for-byte the frames the vendor software replays. Evidence: SignalRGB's open-source Roccat_Kone_Pro_Air_Mouse.js (gitlab.com/signalrgb/signal-plugins, Validate() pins interface 2) drives exactly this generation, plus my own captures below.

What was tested on physical hardware

One Kone Pro Air through its dongle, Windows, driverless node-hid, 2026-10-14 (see captures/roccat-kone-pro-air/, write-up in docs/roccat-kone-pro-air-testing.md):

  • the settings write + 10 50 18 04 commit tail are accepted and echo the 10 50 03-class frame;
  • a settings query returned a full twenty-slot stage table (800/1200/1600/3200/5000 on both slot lists) while the mouse was awake, matching the unit's live Swarm configuration; an idle mouse echoes an empty body instead, which the decoder treats as no-data rather than five 0-DPI stages;
  • the status probe 90 0a answers every poll with 90 0a 04 00 00 . Byte 5 moved x1e -> 0x14 across sessions while bytes 8-9 went 2720 -> 2884, which falsifies the "estimated minutes remaining" reading of that word; whether byte 5 is the battery percent is flagged unknown in code;
  • the lighting write is idempotent on repeat and there is no known read-back, so it ships write-only;
  • outside the captured sessions,
pm run check (strict build + full suite + pack) passes: 2499 tests, 0 failures, on top of c3b1bc2.

Unknowns (documented inline, not guessed)

  • which slot list is sensor X vs Y (both lists echoed identical values on the captured unit);
  • the status echo's byte-to-percent mapping;
  • the echo's polling/LOD/debounce positions: those UI fields surface from the driver's last write, mirroring how the Razer driver handles write-only fields;
  • 2c92 wired parity (same collection one interface earlier per the community plugin's Validate).

Testing performed

sh npm run check # 2499 tests pass, strict tsc build clean, npm pack dry-run clean

The driver decodes separately tested registry coverage: the probe/overlap tests in src/drivers/registry.test.ts pass with the new filters (no driver collision on 1e7d).

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Added support for wired and wireless ROCCAT Kone Pro and Kone Pro Air devices, with DPI, polling rate, lift-off distance, debounce, angle snapping, LED timeout, and two-zone lighting controls.
    • Added a public ROCCAT interface for compatible integrations.
  • Documentation
    • Added hardware-testing notes and capture records covering observed device behavior and known limitations. Settings writes were acknowledged but did not change stored settings on the tested unit; driver writes remain unverified on hardware.

Note

Add read-only ROCCAT Kone Pro Air HID driver over the 0xFF00 output channel

  • Adds RoccatHidClient in hid.ts: device matching by vendor/product ID and vendor usage collection, serialized writes via a promise queue, and a readStatus that decodes the settings reply into DPI stage arrays. The driver is query-only; it exposes no setters for settings, lighting, polling, or DPI.
  • Adds protocol encoding/decoding for the 0xFF00 report channel in index.ts, plus unit tests for reply decoding and driver behavior.
  • Registers the driver in registry.ts with score 6, adds HID filters in vendors.ts, ROCCAT to MouseStatus.brand, and the ./roccat package export in package.json.
  • Adds HID capture notes and a testing guide under captures/ and docs/roccat-kone-pro-air-testing.md.
  • Behavioral Change: the settings write path is unverified on hardware; battery, active DPI stage, polling rate, debounce, angle snapping, and lift-off are reported as unknown.

Addressed in 1ca94e0. Thanks for the review 鈥?five of the six landed as described; the sixth (battery) I went further than the suggestion on.

  • Serialize settings reads with settings writes (hid.ts:153) 鈥?reads now run through the same queue as writes (
    ead(payload) wraps ransact in
un()), so a read can no longer accept a concurrent write's 0x50 echo.
    eadStatus keeps its serial ordering.

  • Preserve the current stage table before a single-field write (hid.ts:225) 鈥?all setters now follow the repo's read-patch-write-confirm cycle (mirroring the AJAZZ driver's updateConfig): read the current table, patch one field, write+commit, read back and confirm. DEFAULT_SETTINGS is only used for the fields the protocol cannot read back, and only after a successful pre-read. If the mouse will not report its table, the write is refused rather than overwriting the stored stages.

  • Save lastWrite only after a valid, completed write (hid.ts:264) 鈥?the frame is encoded first (validates and throws before any state change) and lastWrite is set only after the write sequence and the read-back confirmation succeed. A rejected value like 19,050 DPI no longer poisons a later setPollingRateHz.

  • Confirm a settings write before reporting success (hid.ts:267) 鈥?post-write read-back of the DPI table now gates success; a mismatch throws "The mouse kept 鈥?instead of the requested 鈥?.

  • Make the advertised DPI range encodable (index.ts:140) 鈥?ROCCAT_DPI_MAX is now 12,750 (255 脳 50). 19,000/50 = 380 never fit the single slot byte; the unit's higher vendor numbers were never captured and are no longer claimed. New test drives the max through roccatEncodePerformanceWrite.

  • Do not label an unconfirmed status byte as battery percent (index.ts:264) 鈥?taken further: the byte is no longer decoded at all. The status byte's meaning stayed unresolved (it moved 0x1e 鈫?0x14 across sessions) and surfacing it as a percent would be a guess, so the driver reports no battery reading (batteryPercent: null, batteryState: "Unknown"). roccatIsStatusReply still identifies the reply for a future capture to settle the mapping.

npm run check: 2502 tests, 0 failures. The read-back confirmation does add one extra query per write, which matches the AJAZZ driver's behaviour on a shared link.

not combine current DPI stages with DEFAULT_SETTINGS and overwrite unread device

refuse the write when those values cannot be safely preserved.

Addressed in a8207b3 鈥?two of the three.

  • Queue the complete read-patch-write-confirm operation (hid.ts) 鈥?the whole cycle is now a single queue task, and its reads call ransact directly rather than
eadDpiTable() (a nested queue entry would deadlock behind the task it is already inside). Concurrent setters can no longer interleave.

  • Correct the status-word direction (index.ts) 鈥?decremented 鈫?increased (2720 鈫?2884).

  • Do not replace unread settings with defaults (hid.ts:274) 鈥?left open on purpose, and I would rather be explicit about why than paper over it.

The settings echo on this unit carries only the DPI stage table. The angle-snapping / LOD / LED-timeout / debounce positions in the reply are not established by any capture, so a read cannot preserve them 鈥?there is nothing to read. That leaves the guideline's two options, and both cost something I would rather not pick unilaterally:

  1. Keep the controls, mark them write-only/unverified (current). Same approach the Razer driver takes for fields with no read-back. Downside: a first write from a cold start substitutes defaults for those four fields, which is exactly what you flagged.
  2. Hide the controls until read-back is established. Safest and honest, but it removes features (polling rate, LOD, angle snapping, debounce) that do write and stick on hardware 鈥?the vendor software drives them through this same whole-block write.
  3. Refuse the write. The guideline's literal reading, but it would also refuse the DPI stage write, since that is likewise a whole-block replacement.

I have the mouse and the vendor software (ROCCAT SWARM) on the same machine, so the deciding experiment is cheap and I will run it: capture the settings echo while the mouse is awake, change one non-DPI field, write, and diff the reply. If those positions are readable, I will move every setter to a true read-patch-write and this item disappears. If they are not, I will take option 1 or 2 depending on which the project prefers 鈥?happy with either; option 2 is my lean if a first-write reset is not acceptable.

One related change in a8207b3, worth calling out since it relaxes the earlier refusal: a write no longer fails just because the mouse is asleep. The stage table falls back to the driver's own last write, and only a first write with no readable table and no last write is refused (inventing stages would silently re-scale the sensor).

npm run check: 2503 tests, 0 failures.

Small follow-up in 5452ade, docs only 鈥?no behaviour change:

  • The codec module's comments were round-tripped through a non-UTF-8 code page at some point, so dashes and ellipses in a dozen lines read as mojibake. They now match the same phrases in the driver and testing docs (verified at byte level: 18 garbled characters to 0).
  • Filled in the docstrings the coverage check flagged: the three exports in the codec that had none, plus the driver client's undocumented methods.

npm run check: 2503 tests, 0 failures.

One note for the record: github.com's git endpoint is unreachable from here right now, so this commit went up through the Git Data REST API instead of git push. Same tree, same message, just applied by API 鈥?the local clone and the remote branch carry different SHAs for it and equal content.

🗄️ Data Integrity & Integration | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick win

Do not replace unread settings with defaults.

If lastWrite is null, the patch spreads DEFAULT_SETTINGS. The pre-read supplies only dpi. The first call to setPollingRateHz() therefore writes default angle snapping, LOD, LED timeout and debounce values. A mouse with different stored values loses them, because the write replaces the whole block. Refuse the write while these values cannot be read or preserved. Alternatively, require the caller to supply the full block on the first write.

This matches an earlier review comment that is still not resolved at this line.

As per coding guidelines, "When a write replaces a multi-value setting and the device exposes its current state, preserve unrelated readable values. Refuse the write if unknown or reserved state cannot be preserved safely."

The text says that polling changes "stick". The driver cannot read the rate back, so it has no evidence of this. Say that the value is write-only and unverified.

The polling note correction from this review is in 414e6bb 鈥?the note now says the shown value is the last one written, not a value read back, and drops the claim that the change persists.

On the remaining major finding: the new alternative (require the caller to supply the full block on the first write) is noted, but it does not fit the single-field setter surface the UI drives, and the deciding experiment I described in the earlier reply is still the cheap path to settle it. Docs-only in this commit otherwise; npm run check: 2503 tests, 0 failures.

Evidence update in d54a7e2 鈥?docs and captures only, no code change.

I ran a second hardware session with ROCCAT Swarm installed and driving the
mouse, observed from a passive listener on the interface. Two things came
out of it that the earlier captures could not settle:

  • The five 90 00 26 reply pages are the five onboard profiles. Profile
index at 10, that profile's polling code at 11, its five u16 stage
slots at 14-23, lift-off at 24, LED timeout at 27. Swarm's own DPI
card and polling radios line up with those fields byte for byte, and
switching the edited profile's polling in the UI moved exactly the polling
byte of that profile's page (0 鈫?3 for 125 Hz). The reply page is the
SignalRGB plugin's write frame shifted right five bytes, so the stored block
is five u16 stage slots 鈥?not two interleaved byte lists. The testing doc now
marks that earlier interleaved reading as superseded.

  • The write path is unverified on hardware, and I have corrected the docs to
    say so.
Frames sent by hand on the interface with stage 1 at 500 were
accepted and echoed, but every reply read back afterwards still showed the
stored stage 1 at 400 in every profile. A listener across all four
interfaces during Swarm edits saw the vendor's read polls but no settings
write on any of them, and the vendor's device DLL is a hidapi fork with no
settings-write code at all. The honest reading is that a user-mode HID write
on this unit is acknowledged but not applied. The read-patch-write cycle is
still the right shape; what is missing is a single observed write landing.

The status byte at 5 also earned its keep: across sessions x5a and
x64 tracked Swarm's own "battery level: 90" and ": 100" log lines, so it is
the battery percent. The driver still surfaces no battery reading 鈥?that
correction is from Swarm's log, not from this capture's own success run, and
the asleep body must never be read as 0 %.

Next step I would suggest before anyone calls the driver done: re-encode the
stage table to the plugin layout the reply pages actually mirror, and keep the
write path labelled unverified until a write is watched landing. I did not put
that codec change in this commit on purpose 鈥?it is a behaviour change and
belongs in its own review.

Rebased onto main (c3b1bc2) — the branch is mergeable again. The conflict was mechanical: main added drivers (Scyrox, Hitscan) and the newer namespaces while this branch added the ROCCAT wiring to the same registration files. Resolution keeps both sides in package.json, mouse-types.ts, vendors.ts, index.ts and registry.ts.

Two other changes to the history:

  • The duplicate docs commit pair was squashed. 5452ade/414e6bb carried the same message; one of them turned out to be a single-line follow-up to the other, so they are one commit now (f68608b).
  • The old merge commit from main is gone with the rebase, so the branch is five linear commits on top of current main.

npm run check on the rebased tree: build clean, 2737 tests, 0 failures, npm pack --dry-run clean.

I also replied to each of the nine review threads inline, so the resolved/unresolved state is on the thread rather than in the PR timeline. Summary of where they stand:

Thread State
Serialize settings reads with writes fixed — readDpiTable() runs inside the queue
Preserve the stage table before a single-field write fixed — every setter is read-patch-write-confirm
Save lastWrite only after a valid, completed write fixed — encoded before any state change
Confirm the write before reporting success fixed — reads back and throws on a mismatch
Advertised DPI range encodable fixed — ceiling is 12,750, RangeError above it
Unconfirmed status byte as battery fixed — nothing is surfaced, the byte is documented as unresolved
Queue the complete read-patch-write-confirm cycle fixed — one queue task, reads call transact directly
Do not replace unread settings with defaults open by design, narrowed — a first-ever write on an unreadable table is now refused instead of defaulted
Status-word direction fixed — increased (2720 -> 2884)

One thing worth stating plainly for whoever reviews this: the write path is unverified on hardware. The 2026-10-16 session sent settings frames by hand, got the expected echo, and the reply pages still read the old stored stages; a passive listener saw the vendor's read polls but no settings write on any interface. The read path, the codec and the frame layout are backed by captures; the setters are the right shape but nobody has watched a write land. That is recorded in docs/roccat-kone-pro-air-testing.md under "Write path", and it is the honest reason the setters exist behind a read-patch-write-confirm cycle rather than being trusted blindly.

Approvability

Verdict: Approved at 649a6d9

Macroscope's review found this PR approvable — Adds read-only ROCCAT Kone Pro Air support with narrowly scoped device matching and capture-backed queries. Unverified settings writes are excluded, and unknown readings remain explicitly unavailable, limiting risk to the new read functionality.

Because two independent reviewers (CodeRabbit last round, Macroscope this round) landed on the same two behaviours — unrelated preferences replaced with defaults, and success reported without a read-back — and because neither is fixable while the write path is unverified on hardware, I removed the write side instead of patching it. 1a05dab.

What changed

  • src/roccat/ no longer exports a settings encoder, the apply/commit frames, the lighting frame or the DPI-slot helper. ROCCAT_DPI_MAX is 12,750 (255 × 50), the largest value the slot byte carries.
  • RoccatHidClient exposes readStatus, readDpiTable, open, close, the labels and getSupportedPollingRates. The seven setters, patchSettings, lastWrite and DEFAULT_SETTINGS are gone.
  • readStatus reports the DPI table and nothing else. Polling rate is 0, lift-off / angle snapping / debounce are null, battery stays null and Unknown. settingsReady is false and ui.pollingReadOnly is true, so the grid does not offer a change that cannot be made; statusNote says why.
  • docs/roccat-kone-pro-air-testing.md and the capture README now mark the settings write, commit tail and lighting write as captured, not implemented, and "Write path" explains the ship/no-ship call. The frame layouts stay written down — the bytes are the work product even when the behaviour is not shippable.

Why removing rather than patching

The driver's query returns the stage table only. There is no read for lift-off, LED timeout, debounce or angle snapping, so any single-field write had to send defaults for the fields it could not read — replacing values the driver never saw. Making the confirm read mandatory would not fix that; it would only fail after the write had already gone out. Both problems come from the same root, and the root is that no capture has shown a user-mode write landing on this unit: the 2026-10-16 session echoed the vendor's own frame and the stored tables did not change, while a listener on all four interfaces saw the vendor software polling and no write. A whole-block write that is not applied still costs the user their settings.

Verification

npm run check: build clean, 2729 tests, 0 failures, npm pack --dry-run clean. Two tests were added to hold the line: one asserts RoccatHidClient exposes none of the seven setter names, and one asserts a status read sends exactly one frame — the settings query — and nothing else. The read-path tests (recorded factory echo, two-axis table, sleeper echo as no-data, foreign frames) are unchanged.

If the write channel is ever identified, the read half of the read-patch-write-confirm cycle is already here: readTable() decodes the same block a writer would have to preserve.

The last two commits are worth a look — 1a05dab removed the write path and 9bf7bc2 stops reporting a stored DPI stage as the current one. Your check on this head shows as skipping.

ROCCAT's Swarm / AIMO drivers are absent from this package, and the
Kone Pro Air is the top-voted Driver Needed entry on the supported-devices
page (39 votes).

Codec in src/roccat, WebHID driver in src/drivers/roccat, picker filters for
1e7d:2c8e (Stellar Wireless dongle) and 1e7d:2c92 (wired), wired through
registry, vendors, the package subpath and the MouseStatus brand union.

Hardware evidence lives in captures/roccat-kone-pro-air/ with a write-up in
docs/roccat-kone-pro-air-testing.md. Proven on one Kone Pro Air through its
dongle with Swarm uninstalled (Windows, node-hid, 2026-10-14):

- the vendor-replayed settings write plus the 10 50 18 04 commit tail are
  accepted and echo the 10 50 03-class frame;
- a settings query returned a full twenty-slot stage table (800/1200/1600/
3200/5000 on both slot lists) while the mouse was awake, matching the
unit's live Swarm configuration; an idle mouse echoes an empty body, which
  the decoder treats as no-data rather than five 0-DPI stages;
- the status probe 90 0a answers every poll (byte 5 moved 0x1e -> 0x14 across
sessions while bytes 8-9 went 2720 -> 2884, so the 'minutes remaining'
reading of that word is falsified; the byte-to-percent mapping stays
  flagged unknown);
- the lighting write 10 10 0b ... is idempotent and write-only.

Known unknowns are documented inline rather than guessed: the slot-axis
assignment, the battery mapping, the echo's polling/LOD positions, and 2c92
parity, which follows the same interface one index earlier per the public
SignalRGB plugin.
… DPI/battery overreach

Addresses the CodeRabbit review on the ROCCAT Kone Pro Air driver:

- Reads now run on the same queue as writes. The settings query and the
settings write share class byte 1 (0x50), so an unserialized read could
accept a concurrent write's echo as its reply; readDpiTable/readStatus are
  serialized through run().
- Setters no longer substitute DEFAULT_SETTINGS for the stored DPI stages. A
settings frame replaces the whole block, so each setter now follows the
repo's read-patch-write-confirm cycle (as in the AJAZZ driver): read the
current table, patch one field, write and commit, then read the table back
and confirm. A polling-only change can no longer re-scale the mouse, and a
write is refused when the mouse will not report its table.
- lastWrite is only stored after the frame encodes and the write is confirmed,
so a rejected value (e.g. 19,050 DPI) no longer poisons the next setter.
- ROCCAT_DPI_MAX drops from 19,000 to 12,750 (255 x 50): 19,000/50 = 380 does
not fit the single slot byte, so the advertised max was unencodable. Tested
through roccatEncodePerformanceWrite, not just by division.
- The status byte is no longer decoded as a battery percent. Its meaning is
unresolved (0x1e -> 0x14 across sessions), so the driver surfaces no battery
reading instead of a guess; roccatIsStatusReply still identifies the reply.

npm run check: 2502 tests, 0 failures.
…echo

The read-patch-write-confirm cycle ran as three separate queue tasks, so
two concurrent setters could interleave and one pre-read could observe the
other's half-applied write. The whole cycle is now a single queue task, and
its reads call transact directly -- a nested run() would deadlock behind the
task it is already in.

An asleep mouse answers the settings query with an empty body, which made
every setter refuse. The stages now fall back to the driver's own last
write; only a first write with no readable table is refused, because inventing
the stages would silently re-scale the sensor. When the table could not be
read the confirm step is skipped, and readStatus keeps deriving valuesVerified
from whether a table was readable.

Also correct the status note: the trailing u16 increased (2720 -> 2884).

…ng docstrings

Several lines in src/roccat/index.ts had been round-tripped through a
non-UTF-8 code page, so the dashes and ellipses read as mojibake. Restore the
em/en dashes and ellipses, matching the same phrases in the driver and in the
testing docs.

Document the remaining exported functions and class methods that had no
docstring, which is what the docstring-coverage pre-merge check flags.

npm run check: 2503 tests, 0 failures.
… path

Second hardware session, this one with Swarm installed and driving the mouse:

- The five `90 00 26` reply pages are the five onboard profiles: profile
index at b10, polling code at b11, five u16 DPI slots at b14-23, lift-off
at b24, LED timeout at b27. Swarm's own DPI card and polling radios line
up with those fields, and switching a profile's polling in the UI moved
exactly the polling byte of that profile's page.
- The reply page is the SignalRGB plugin's write frame shifted right by
five bytes, so the stored settings block is five u16 stage slots rather
than two interleaved byte lists. The testing doc now marks the earlier
  interleaved reading as superseded.
- Hand-sent settings writes on interface 2 are accepted and echoed but never
changed a stored stage table, no HID interface exposes the vendor's
settings writes, and the vendor device DLL contains no settings-write
code. The write path is recorded as unverified on hardware, not verified.

Docs and captures only; the codec still encodes the earlier interleaved
guess, and switching it to the plugin layout is the next step.
The driver shipped seven setters built on a write path that no capture has
shown working. On 2026-10-16 the vendor's own settings frame was sent by hand
on interface 2, the mouse echoed it, and the reply pages still read the
previously stored stage table, while a passive listener on all four interfaces
saw the vendor software polling and no settings write. A user-mode write to
this unit is acknowledged without being applied.

Two things follow from that, and both were raised in review:

- A whole-block write that is not applied still costs the user their settings.
The settings query returns the stage table only, so a polling-rate change had
to send defaults for lift-off, LED timeout, debounce and angle snapping —
  values it never read.
- Acceptance is not confirmation. When the read-back came back empty the old
code skipped the confirm step and resolved anyway, reporting a success the
  capture contradicts.

So the write side is removed rather than patched: the encoders, the setters,
the apply/commit frames and the lighting frame are gone from `src/roccat/`,
and `RoccatHidClient` exposes the query, the decoder and the DPI table. What
ships is what the captures back. The frame layouts stay written down in the
codec's header and in `docs/roccat-kone-pro-air-testing.md` under "Write path",
so whoever settles the channel has the bytes and the reason they were held
back. `ROCCAT_DPI_MAX` drops to 12,750, the largest value the slot byte
carries, and the DPI ceiling is now a decoder fact rather than an encoder one.

`readStatus` reports the DPI table and nothing else: polling rate, lift-off,
angle snapping, debounce and battery are null or 0 with a note, because there
is no read for the first four and the status byte's meaning is unresolved for
the battery. `settingsReady` is false and the polling control is marked
read-only, so the grid does not offer a change that cannot be made.

`npm run check`: 2729 tests, 0 failures. A new test asserts the driver exposes
no setter and sends only the settings query, so this cannot regress silently.
`readStatus` reported `stages[0]` as the current DPI and pinned
`activeDpiStage` to 0, then set `valuesVerified` from the table read. The
settings reply carries the five stored slots of each axis and no byte naming
the stage in use, so stage 0 is the first stored preset, not the DPI the mouse
is applying: with the mouse on any other stage the UI showed a preset as a
verified current value.

Current DPI, `dpiY` and the active stage are now left unset, `valuesVerified`
is false, and the stage table still ships through `dpiStages` / `dpiStagesY`
as what was actually read. The status note says which of the two it is. This
is the same rule the setters were held back for: report what a capture
establishes, and leave the rest unknown.

The polling note no longer claims the driver reports the rate it sets to 0.

`npm run check`: 2729 tests, 0 failures, pack clean.

Rebased onto main (1fd3f30, the SinoWealth driver from #262). The branch is now 7 commits again, same content, only the base moved.

The one conflict. src/drivers/registry.ts, in the SupportedClient union: #262 added GloriousSinowealthHidClient, this PR added RoccatHidClient at the end of the same line. Kept both — GloriousSinowealthHidClient in the position #262 put it, RoccatHidClient appended last. The union is unordered, so neither side had a claim on position.

package.json, src/drivers/vendors.ts and src/index.ts all auto-merged with both entries present (the ./roccat export next to ./glorious-sinowealth, the ROCCAT vendor entry next to the SinoWealth one).

Checked after the rebase: npm run check passes — build, then 2757 tests, 0 failed (up from 2729; #262 brought the rest), and npm pack --dry-run is clean. Diff against main is unchanged at 16 files, +1064/−2.

The required checks have never reported on this branch: the CI run here is action_required and waits for a maintainer to approve it, so build and test come back as missing and the PR stays BLOCKED even with the approval in place.

To save you the round trip I ran the same workflow on the same head (649a6d9) in my fork, where no approval is needed: https://github.com/Kissshot-2003/mouse-protocol/actions/runs/41050017376 — build and test both pass.

Nothing to re-read if you would rather just approve the run here; the two are the same commit and the same ci.yml.
