🌟 Overview

LockedIn is engineered to eliminate distraction and preserve relentless forward momentum on high-stakes outcomes that define your career, education, craft, and personal life.

Whether steering a doctoral dissertation, authoring a book, managing an engineering roadmap, passing licensing exams, or executing athletic training blocks, LockedIn enforces a strictly domain-neutral architecture. You will never find hardcoded academic assumptions or rigid taxonomy. The terminology adapts seamlessly to whatever outcome you choose to conquer.

Goal ──▢ Categories ──▢ Tasks & Subtasks ──▢ Live DD-MM-YYYY Countdown & Menu Bar Ticker

✨ Core Highlights

🎯 Domain-Neutral Data Architecture

  • Goal: Any high-order outcome. Every goal is fully editable and displays an eye-catching glowing green effect when active. Active state is strictly goal-level.
  • Target Deadline: The definitive target date formatted strictly as DD-MM-YYYY (e.g. 31-12-2026), driving live countdowns.
  • Category: Flexible, user-colored grouping of tasks with visual completion rings.
  • Milestone: Non-fungible checkpoints that visually anchor substantive progress.
  • Task & Subtask: Granular work items with quick inline creation, optional deadlines (DD-MM-YYYY), status badges, and priorities (task-level active buttons removed in favor of automatic nearest-deadline resolution).
  • Overall Progress: Mathematically computed, weighted completion across all leaf tasks.

🧭 Strict Three-Tab Navigation Paradigm

LockedIn maintains a clean, distraction-free environment organized into strictly three primary views:

  1. Dashboard: Glowing green active goal card, live target countdown (DD-MM-YYYY), overall progress ring, nearest upcoming task card, and milestone tracker. No accidental blue startup focus squares.
  2. Add Tasks: Structured 260pt goal sidebar with organized multi-row cards (Title + Active badge/button, full-width stats row preventing text wrapping, and direct 1-click Edit and Delete buttons), category accordions, and instant inline task quick-add (no dropdown arrows or 3-dots menus!).
  3. Settings: Restructured preferences β€” active goal & deadline editing with single-line Switch Active Goal dropdown, System/Light/Dark appearance switcher (without intrusive blue borders), 5-second menu bar ticker configuration, custom notifications, launch-at-login, and JSON data backup/restore.

⏱️ Persistent, Always-On Menu Bar Extra

  • The menu bar icon stays always on even if the main application window is closed.
  • Reopen the app instantly at any time from the menu bar popover or Dock.

πŸ”„ 5-Second Alternating Menu Bar Ticker (Private Date-Only)

  • Phase A (5 seconds): Displays overall goal target deadline (DD-MM-YYYY), remaining days ((142d)), and progress percentage.
  • Phase B (5 seconds): Displays the date for the recent task with an icon ([checklist] DD-MM-YYYY (Xd)). The task title is kept strictly private and never exposed in the menu bar.
  • Quick popover access to a mini-dashboard and upcoming tasks with a reliable native segmented switcher (Dashboard vs Tasks).

πŸ“… Uniform DD-MM-YYYY Date Formatting Everywhere

Dates across all screens, countdown badges, task rows, form sheets, and menu bar extras are strictly formatted in the clean, international DD-MM-YYYY standard.

πŸ—‘οΈ Direct Delete Actions (No 3-Dots, No Dropdown Arrows)

All multi-step dropdown menus have been replaced with dedicated, direct 1-click Delete buttons across goals, categories, and tasks.

🎨 Clean, Native macOS Aesthetics

  • Native macOS vibrancy without awkward blue borders on tab buttons, appearance pickers, or startup cards.
  • Embedded high-resolution LockedIn icon branding throughout the interface.
  • Three appearance preferences: System (follows macOS dynamically), Light, and Dark.

πŸ”’ 100% Offline-First & Private

  • Zero cloud accounts, zero telemetry, zero background network calls.
  • Atomic JSON persistence stored locally in ~/Library/Application Support/LockedIn/.
  • Full backup export and restore in human-readable JSON.
