Description

Part of #1103 round 5, changelog slice, on main at 4c3d30163.

• New entries. 1.5.0.rst gains an entry for every merged PR and direct push since the last one recorded (ci(util): fetch with requests and poll memory with psutil in the scripts (#1894) #1896). They are filed by module, folded into existing entries where those already cover the change. Highlights:
  • corekit: can_seek
  • dumpkit: make_dumper
  • foundation: performance and fixes
  • protocols: fix(protocols): find the payload by protocol name and follow IPv6 next headers, not key order (#2003) #2014 (breaking), the PCAP-NG truncation fixes, timestamps
  • utilities: the new pcapkit.utilities.datetime
  • infrastructure: the glossary, the benchmark and engines page, the win-64 Conda package, workflow hardening, CodeQL and lint, docs-rendering fixes, and the Conda release legs.
• Skipped, following the file's precedent: the prose passes, bot dependency bumps, chores, test-only changes and CI internals.
• Corrected:
  • The prerelease range now runs to 1.5.0b14 and ci(release): name the right remedy when the latest release lacks Anaconda files (#2140) #2151.
  • The sphinx-autodoc-typehints pin is 3.17.2, not 3.15.0.
  • IPv6 __exthdr__ has been carried in to_dict since fix(protocols): find the payload by protocol name and follow IPv6 next headers, not key order (#2003) #2014.
  • The readme is declared statically in pyproject.toml (ci: make the readme static so Dependabot can build the editable install (#1968) #1994), not read by setup.py.
  • Three changes credited to 1.3.3 first shipped in 1.3.1.post8, as checked by tag ancestry. They now sit under 1.3.1, in 1.3.1.rst, 1.3.3.rst and the changelog.rst summaries.
• Generated file. CHANGELOG.md is regenerated by util/changelog_md.py.
• Tests. test_changelog_md, test_conventions_doc_claims and test_rfc_anchor_fragments: 109 passed. tests/project/test_docs_*: 58 passed.
