Can docplex model call cplex solver wrapped in IBM Decision Optimization Center? #31
Yes. As IBM DOC contains a Cplex distribution. You have first to locate the root path of this embedded distribution , let's call it <root_dir> and then add
<root_dir>/python<py_version>/ subdir to your PYTHONPATH variable and docplex will use it.
<py_version> is the python version (as supported by Cplex), e.g. 3.8
denotes your working platform, e.g. x64_win64 for Windows 64 bits
For example: c:\Program Files\IBM\DOC\cplex201\python\3.8\x64_win64
Use python -m docplex.mp.check_list to check which version of cplex is "seen" from docplex.
The output should look like:
* system is: Windows 64bit
* Python version 3.8.16, located at: C:\python\anaconda202210\envs\docplex_dev38\python.exe
* docplex is present, version is 2.30.251
* CPLEX library is present, version is 20.1.0.0, located at: C:\OPTIM\cplex_distrib\cplex201\python\3.8\x64_win64
* pandas is present, version is 1.5.3
