Reviewer's GuideFixes SLERP state aliasing by cloning each adapter’s merged model state before loading the next adapter, preserving both contributions and making weighted interpolation effective. Regression tests exercise real PEFT adapters in both orders and across representative weights; the changelog records the fix. Sequence diagram for preserving both SLERP adapter statessequenceDiagram

**Large merges fail with OOM**
When host memory cannot fit the additional full-model copy, `state_b` clones the full merged model while the base and earlier snapshots remain resident, so the allocation raises an out-of-memory error and `merge_peft_adapters` fails. The base is not changed again until the final load, so this copy is unnecessary.
Use the merged model's `state_dict()` directly for `state_b` instead of cloning every tensor.

**Large merges run out of memory**
When merging a model whose snapshots exceed available host RAM, the snapshots add full model-sized allocations while `base_state` remains live; on a host with enough RAM for the previous working set but not these extra copies, cloning raises an out-of-memory error and the merge returns failure instead of producing a model.
Release `base_state` immediately after restoring it and avoid cloning adapter B while its state remains unchanged until the merged state is computed.

Needs a human reviewer. 2 findings to address first, and if the snapshots or SLERP calculation are wrong, the merge can produce a checkpoint with incorrect model weights. That artifact persists after a revert, but it can be regenerated by rerunning the merge with corrected code.

Thank you, @hiyouwhatsapp — this is a clean fix for a subtle aliasing bug, and the regression test is exactly what the issue asked for: real PEFT adapters instead of mocks, both adapter orders, several weight pairs, and no GPU or network. I checked it locally:

Separately, thanks for mentioning the Windows failures on the unchanged code. That is outside this PR, so there is nothing to do here. Once those threads are sorted out I believe this is ready to go, and |

Issue
#407requires correction of the English model-merging documentation and its Turkish mirror. Both files still describe SLERP as using the relative weights of the two model entries, but neither file documents the corrected adapter-state behavior. Update both manuals in the same change.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

Fixes #407
Resolves: CR-A13-001
The first adapter was getting overwritten when the second one loaded, so SLERP ended up using the second one twice
Made a copy before that happens and added tests to check both adapters actually make it into the result
The merging tests pass. The full run still has 40 failures on Windows, checked these on the unchanged code too and got the same failures
Summary by Sourcery
Preserve both adapter states during SLERP merging so weighted combinations produce the intended result.
