Composable software, reusable capabilities, and practical AI-assisted engineering.
FlossWare is a collection of software projects and shared foundations. We focus on clear contracts, modular designs, useful interoperability, and decisions grounded in evidence. Individual projects can evolve independently while sharing standards and knowledge where that is useful.
| Repository | Responsibility |
|---|---|
| standards | Authoritative normative rules and cross-project standards |
| knowledge | Canonical Git-backed corpus for durable knowledge, decisions, evidence, and provenance |
| research | Investigations, experiments, and architectural exploration, including work whose conclusions are still uncertain |
These repositories have distinct roles: standards prescribe, knowledge preserves, and research investigates. None is a substitute for the others.
FlossWare uses GitHub and Notion for complementary purposes:
- Notion Knowledge Hub provides a human-friendly workspace for exploring architecture, understanding decisions, tracking research and experiments, and navigating project knowledge.
- GitHub Knowledge maintains the version-controlled corpus of durable knowledge, findings, evidence, and provenance.
- GitHub Standards defines the authoritative normative rules governing FlossWare projects.
- GitHub software repositories hold executable contracts, implementations, tests, and implementation-specific documentation.
Notion connects these resources through curated explanations and navigation. Each artifact retains its appropriate source of authority, avoiding competing copies of decisions, standards, and implementation details.
FlossWare projects cover different problems and may share contracts, libraries, or services when that creates a useful boundary. No single implementation or project defines the organization as a whole.
Across projects, we aim to:
- Make interfaces and responsibilities explicit.
- Keep contracts distinct from their implementations.
- Favor composition and modularity over unnecessary coupling.
- Preserve evidence and provenance for important decisions.
- Treat research conclusions as hypotheses until supported by evidence.
- Keep project-specific implementation details with the projects that own them.

The public documentation repository is FlossWare/FlossWare. It presents selected documentation and navigation; it does not replace the canonical knowledge corpus, standards, or software repositories.
This organization profile is an entry point, not a competing source of truth.
