An old keeper's husband returns almost unchanged after a fifty-year vigil, carrying a hungry infant and the means to seal the rift. Ending the watch also means closing the only known way home for people still beyond it. The Last Watch keeps the reunion tender and the choice morally unresolved.
Adds the complete non-canon story package, the exact prompt, provisional outline, editorial memory, and final General rating with specific content notes. Art includes an inspected 864×1536 cover, a 1536×1024 multi-view Talven sheet, and the original watch-site painting beside its selected correction and generation prompts.
The required outline and fresh final round-robin discussions involved the writer, independent Codex readers, and authenticated Claude subscription sessions. Cold draft effects led to an enacted waiting/reversal sequence; fresh final readings exposed the carried-loop handoff possibility. The failed transfer and prospective acknowledgment of Len were checked in whole-story rereads. The ending remains an informed, potentially wrong choice rather than an emergency or absolution. Minor style preferences and reasons for declining them remain in notes.md.
Verified verbatim prompt preservation, relevant universe boundaries, names, object and time continuity, selected image pixels and labels, file completeness, image formats/dimensions, and clean diff formatting. No shared facts are added or promoted, and canon remains false. Ready for human review; this pull request is a draft.
