This PR adds the remaining features that the working group is targeting for the OCIO 2.6.0 release.

Based on guidance from Carol and Thomas, the config version was bumped to 5.0. The OCIO version is 2.6 since it uses the display aliasing and Apple Log 2 built-in added in 2.6.0.

The ACES version is set to 2.1 in anticipation of an update to the AMF IDs available in the upcoming ACES release. As such, the AMF IDs in the current version of the configs should be considered incomplete and will be finalized in the 2.6.1 version of the library.

Modifications:

  • Updates the config name and description to the new version number.
  • When run using an OCIO 2.6 build, Carol's "Apple Log 2" and "Linear Apple Wide Gamut" were verified as present.
  • The new interop ID g24_rec709_scene is added, the previous ocio:g24_rec709_scene is kept as an alias.
  • The name of the "P3-D65 - Display" display and display color space is now "Gamma 2.6 P3-D65 - Display". The previous name is kept as an alias and use_display_view_aliases is set to true.
  • The family attribute of Sony Venice color spaces is now "Input/Sony/Legacy". This required adding a new "Family" column to the spreadsheet and pulling it into the Pivot Tables.
  • For the display "ST2084-P3-D65 - Display", the view "ACES 2.0 - SDR 100 nits (Rec.709 D60 in Rec.2020 D65)" was changed to "ACES 2.0 - SDR 100 nits (Rec.709 D60 in P3 D65)". Because this is a bug fix for what is a seldom used utility view for that display, I did not try to keep the original view as an inactive option.
  • I renamed the .csv files to correct a problem last year where those files were mistakenly renamed by the update-mapping-file tasks that incorrectly scraped the name of the Google Sheet and renamed the files "Loading ..." where the ellipsis was a Unicode character that seems to confuse git.

I compared the new configs against last year's 4.0 versions of the configs (studio, studio-all, studio-d60, cg, and reference) and the differences are as expected based on the above change list.

It's expected that the CI tests will fail because the generator requires OCIO 2.6.0.

The generated CG and Studio configs may be reviewed in this PR for the OCIO library.

It's expected that the CI tests will fail because the generator requires OCIO 2.6.0.

What I typically do for this is that I point the repo to a Test Pypi build of the latest OpenColorIO package, i.e., https://test.pypi.org/project/opencolorio/. Allows CI to go through "naturally" without having to wait for the release of the specific version on Pypi itself.

@doug-walker: Would it be possible to bump the OCIO version to get the CI to pass when you have a chance?

Oh and there is also a line ending issue for the CSV file, looking like you might not have the precommit hooks installed?

@thomasmansencal , the CI now passes.

We could go ahead and merge this, but please note that I don't think we should do a new configs release until the AMF transform IDs are fixed for ACES 2.1.

We released a new config with 2.6 so I think we should have the corresponding release in the repo.

I've added the topic of when to do the next configs release to the agenda for the next TSC meeting.
