ApprovabilityVerdict: Not approved Macroscope's review found this PR not approvable — This PR adds an opt-in desktop context-menu capability across shared settings and runtime code and introduces a new product default, so it requires human review under the applicable criteria. An unresolved Medium finding also indicates that browser searches can expose a setting unavailable outside Electron. Not approved because:

Reviewed at P2: enabling styled menus loses native keyboard navigation. The new desktop routing selects a fallback whose keyboard handler handles only Escape. Opening it leaves focus in the previously focused control, and arrow keys do not navigate menu items or submenus. This is an existing web limitation newly exposed on desktop by this setting. Please preserve keyboard navigation when opting into the styled menu, including focus on open and arrow-key navigation between items and submenus. Confirmed the focus/ArrowDown behavior with a small event harness against the PR head. No live UI verification was performed. Review performed with GPT-6.1-Sol via the Codex harness in T3 Code. |
There's #18876 open to fix that :) |

Desktop right-click menus use the OS native menu while web uses T3 Code styling. Adds an opt-in per-device setting (Settings -> Appearance -> Interface) that switches desktop menus to the styled fallback. Defaults to native so existing behavior is unchanged.
The search entry lacked desktopOnly, so browser search surfaced a setting whose row only renders in Electron. Marks it desktop-only like the other desktop settings.
The styled preference read is asynchronous, so a close landing mid-read could be followed by a menu opening anyway. Generation-guard show/close on desktop and cover it with a regression test.

Problem
Desktop context menus use the operating system's native styling, while the web UI uses T3 Code styling. This makes the desktop experience look different from the web version.
Change
Adds an opt-in, per-device Styled Context Menu setting under Settings → Appearance → Interface. When enabled, application context menus in the desktop app use T3 Code styling. It is off by default. Text-field and spellcheck menus remain native.
Scope and approval
Scope is limited to this desktop appearance preference and the existing application context-menu routing. No issue is linked; this is a standalone UI consistency improvement. Maintainer review and approval are pending.
