We're the white former sports pavilion at Clements Hall recreation ground in Hawkwell. Look for the round red logo by the front door. The best time for a first visit is a Tuesday evening - socials from 7:30pm, tours from around 8pm.

There is plenty of free parking at the space. The car park can be locked outside park hours of 9am to 4:30pm - we have keys for the gate should you get locked in. If you plan to leave later than 10pm, please park outside the gates: they are very, very squeaky, and we like our neighbours.
The nearest station is Hockley, served by Greater Anglia (roughly every 20 minutes off peak, 10 minutes at peak and 30 minutes at weekends). The space is within walking distance, though there's a hill between the station and us.
Last trains from Hockley: to London Liverpool Street, Mon–Sat 23:12, Sun 23:06; to Southend Victoria, Mon–Sat 01:41, Sun 01:40.
We have a cycle rack (but no showers). There are few cycle paths in this part of Essex, but several quiet back roads and a bridleway from Hockley station.
Two taxi firms serve Hockley regularly: Alpine (01702 531531), based on the London-bound side of the station, and Andrews (01702 200200). {% endcapture %} {% include section.html wash=true content=getting_here_content %}

There is step-free access to the building via a ramp. Because of the age of the building, the internal corridors are about 75 cm wide, which may be restrictive for larger powered wheelchairs.
A second, much wider entrance at the back of the building leads straight into the social space and has access to the accessible toilet. There's a small lip of about 3–4 cm on that entrance.
A hearing loop is installed in the social space (a compatible microphone is not currently available), and we also have a mobile hearing loop that can be moved around the site.
If you have any questions about access, email info@eehack.space and we'll do our best to help.
Step-free access to the front entrance.
