Android test platform / VM?

So, we have some code that we want to run on android (obviously)
Can you set me up a VM that I can pull down the latest versin of simpl to to test my code?
Ideally, said environment will have:

1. The android emulator set up nicely
2. Eclipse / other dev tools

I should be able to remote into / otherwise use the machine to git pull simplJava, and then build /test the changes.

Eventually we'll look into using it as a Hudson slave w/ our CI infrastructure.

Hey @MrTomWhite, what kind of VM are you looking for? Like a virtual box store?

I want something with the requisite android tools on it so I can compile Simpl on android.
I don't care what it is as long as I can:

1. Remotely access
2. Git pull the current published dev branch of simpl
3. build / test the android code

Basically, I clone a one for you. What I can easily make is an ubuntu 12 server box. This will give you terminal/console access. Want one?

Nope. No desktop. If you want a desktop, you should use virtualbox or vmware and give tom a copy.

Eventually, I know that @MrTomWhite would like to have it compilable using ant or javac (not eclipse).

If we can't run it, we can at least host the image.

I suppose you could run a desktop ubuntu box and connect via VNC. I don't really like that workflow, but it's probably easier than setting up fancy headless android. If you do host an image as @MrTomWhite is suggestion, it would be bad to both be accessing it at the same time. I don't see any benefit of hosting a virtual box image on the server rather than filer.

There are some fancy CI methods for testing android in a headless environment:

But those methods are overkill for now.

I will look into headless android test environment. Thank you for the
links. I guess we can set up a Ubuntu box first as a temporary solution.
