What broke

The CI failures were all the same root cause: pnpm-lock.yaml did not yet reflect the updated specifiers in examples/web-cli/package.json. The lockfile was regenerated in commit 0d25486 ("fix(deps): regenerate pnpm-lock.yaml") which was already present on this branch — the shown CI runs were triggered before that commit was pushed.

What was fixed

  • No code changes needed — the lockfile regeneration in 0d25486 was sufficient to resolve all CI failures. The new dependency APIs are backward-compatible with our existing usage.

Verification

  • Build: ✅ (pnpm run build — clean)
  • Lint: ✅ (pnpm exec eslint . — 0 errors, 10 pre-existing deprecation warnings)
  • Unit tests: ✅ (188 test files passed, 2644 tests)
  • Web CLI tests: ✅ (@ably/react-web-cli — 4 test files, 57 passed)
  • TypeScript (examples/web-cli): ✅ (tsc --noEmit — no errors)
  • pnpm install --frozen-lockfile: ✅ — lockfile is now consistent with all package.json manifests

Notes for reviewer

  • The `@vercel/node` v5 → v11 major bump is the highest-risk change, but our usage in examples/web-cli/api/sign.ts only imports the stable VercelRequest/VercelResponse types (not any runtime APIs), so the major version bump has no impact.
  • No further code changes are required — re-running CI should pass.
