I had talked about this off-hand before but the plug has finally been pulled. I officially filed to have my little LLC dissolved today. It came down to not having the money for being able to renew the EV certificate along with other related business expenses; $5 fee to dissolve as opposed to around at least $550 to keep it going in any meaningful way. I never got accepted into the Microsoft Hardware program so having established a business entity was pretty much pointless. There was not any expectation that such a venture was going to be profitable anyway.

For everyone else, the main downside is that my current company EV certificate is set to expire around 2026/08/12. Any binary build signed before that date will still work after the certificate expires and will still be usable without Windows complaining. Being able to digitally sign the binary builds of this program has allowed the program to not get flagged by anti-virus or anti-malware programs (such as VirusTotal) as a suspicious program; it was a false positive that has been a point of contention for people using DS4Windows even using the recent forks. Also, there will not be any option to update the FakerInput driver any further as there will be no means to distribute an update after the current certificate expires. While the option is still open, I guess I should finally make some sort of update to expose multiple absolute mice for use in Touchmote for playing multi-player lightgun games.
