Subject: [PATCH 17/27] Remove redundancy in kernel checking and improve emerge
 command

Makes it so the emerge command rebuilds packages if they need to be rebuilt with a new USE flag (i.e. lvm). --update is used instead of --noreplace to achieve this behaviour. --ask is used instead of --autounmask to avoid angering people by forcing changed to their configs, instead asking and allowing them to do it themselves if necessary.
